I was a classroom teacher for 27 years, helping me to bring a unique perspective and understanding to help your child. Because I understand test results, school districts procedures, and terminology used by districts in educational plans, I can interpret the information in a way that the parents can understand. I can also be a buffer in what is usually a very emotional process.
I do a lot of work with Juvenile courts, especially with the Children In Need of Services (CHINS) process. My services include attending school team meetings and mediation, as well as representing the student at the Bureau of Special Needs Appeals. In addition, I often act as a liaison between the courts, families, and the Department of Children and Families.
